5 Tips to Look Younger for Boudoir Photographs

Are You Ready to schedule your Boudoir Session?

Here are 5 Keys To Looking Beautiful and Natural: a blog about how to look beautiful for your sexy boudoir photos and what you should avoid.

1. Moisturize your skin

Moisturizing daily keeps the skin supple, and plump. Plump skin diminishes wrinkles and signs of aging.

Pay close attention to the eye area. Pat the moisturizer into the skin around the eyes. Don't tug or pull.

Consider getting a facial 5-7 days before your boudoir session.

Avoid chemical peels and Botox the week of your appointment. If you decide on doing these skin treatments, do them 10-14 days before your boudoir session. This allows for healing.

2. Get 7-8 hours (or more) sleep

Our bodies require sleep to heal and slow down the aging process. During sleep, your skin's blood flow increases, and the organ rebuilds its collagen and repairs damage from UV exposure, reducing wrinkles and age spots.

3. Stay out of the sun/tanning bed

Exposure to the sun plays a huge role in how our skin ages. Damage from the sun’s UV rays is responsible for the majority of our skin’s visible signs of aging. UV rays break down the elastin in your skin, causing a saggy and dull appearance, wrinkles, age spots, uneven skin tone, and so much more. If tanning is a must - avoid tanning the week before your session.

4. Drink water – lots of water!

Another key to younger looking skin is hydration. Aim for 8-10 glasses of water each day to keep your skin looking radiant. Dehydration can quickly cause your skin to look dry and dull, emphasizing wrinkles and aging. Drinking enough water daily replenishes your skin’s tissue and cells, allowing for younger and healthier looking skin.

5. Limit alcohol and caffeine

Too much alcohol and/or caffeine can wreak havoc on your skin. Both can dehydrate your body and rob it of key nutrients. What’s even worse is that some of these effects can be permanent. Excessive alcohol will also cause ruptured surface vessels on the face, especially across the nose. Both alcohol and caffeine in excess can cause bloodshot eyes – not attractive in photos.

BONUS TIP:

Own your age, smile and be happy and positive. This will make all the difference. Happy people look younger! Smiling people look younger.

Overcoming the Negative thoughts!

Too many people overvalue what they are not and undervalue what they are.” — Malcolm S. Forbes.

I recently photographed my own boudoir session “in the sheets”. I was very reluctant, but excited to test out my new lighting!

The conversation in my head went like this:

Positive me: this is going to be so much fun!

Negative me: you’re not wearing makeup. And you’re overweight.

Positive me: I look amazing just the way I am.

Negative me: look at those stretch marks, and cellulite. Omg. You’re fat. This is a bad idea.

Positive me: uh. Maybe it is a bad idea. I’m going to do it anyway.

Negative me: bad idea. Don’t post them anywhere. People will judge you.

Positive me: ok. I’m going to do it. Then decide what to do.

Negative me: …..

Positive me: hell yes! Fabulous! You rocked it!

Negative me……

Positive me: I’m so grateful I did it!

Negative me…. Not bad.

My point to this is: take the risk. Book that boudoir session. And don’t listen to the negative voice in your head!

You won’t regret it!

I am Deeliteful! Are you?

Hello! I am Dyanne. I am deelited to meet you! I started Deeliteful Boudoir Photography because I know what women go through. They struggle with their bodies, and I was one of them.

Adolescence was a nightmare for me, I struggled with my body image and wore baggy clothes to try hide my body shape. I struggle with acne and frizzy hair.

College wasn’t much better, I felt like everyone was more beautiful than me (and they were when I compared myself). I struggled with my weight. And more acne.

After giving birth to 3 children almost back to back, I had baby weight I struggled to lose. I was unhappy in my marriage. I felt stuck and fat.

As I grew older, I turned to food to comfort my insecurities. More weight gain. And when I lost weight, it was never enough.

In my late 40's/early 50's, I went to therapy for a myriad of issues from grief to abuse, and self esteem. Through the process, I learned that I am ok just the way I am. I have learned to love myself. And I want to help you to love yourself!

There's no better way to find some self-love (aside from therapy) than a boudoir photography session. The session is all about pampering, looking your best, posing to compliment your figure/shape and assets.

My why is this:
When a lady is finished with her boudoir session, she says, "That was so fun! And I feel so beautiful and sexy!"

We sit down to review her images, and she says, "OMG!! THAT IS ME! I am so beautiful!"

My clients have told me their boudoir session was "life-changing", "confidence boosting",

And when the lady leaves my studio, her steps are lighter, she stands taller and walks out like a Queen who owns the world!
